ASPM Data Download: Cancelled Flights

From ASPMHelp
Jump to: navigation, search

The Cancelled Flights report of Data Download is designed to provide an estimation of flight cancellations. Prior to receipt and processing of ASQP data, cancelled flights are derived based on flight plan cancellation messages from TFMS, typically filed within an hour of the expected departure of a flight. After receipt of ASQP, cancellations for ASQP carriers are updated based on carrier-reported cancellations and causes. ASQP pertains to domestic flights by the largest passenger airlines. A cancellation in ASQP is defined as “a flight operation that was not operated, but was listed in a carrier’s computer reservation system within seven calendar days of the scheduled departure." No additional information is available for non-ASQP carriers, and the cancellations for those flights remain estimates based on the cancelled flight plans and should be used for for the purpose of internal analysis only.

For information about how to create a Cancelled Flights report, see the ASPM Data Download Manual.

Field definitions are available in ASPM Data Download: Definitions of Variables.
